El Condado confirms the reputation earned decades ago by Santa Isabel Hotel, where this restaurant is located. This place was once the residence of Counts of Santovenia, and was always noted for its fine food and services, one of the qualities expressed by US writer Samuel Hazard in his work Cuba a pluma y lápiz (Cuba with Pen and Pencil).
From this restaurant, visitors can rediscover the oldest part of the city. Located in Plaza de Armas (Parade Ground), it is just moments away from El Templete, a monument that is reminiscent of the first mass and open meeting of the council held in St. Christopher of Havana town; the Royal Force Castle Museum, with “la Giraldilla” (a weather vane) on top, one of the best known symbols of Havana; and the City Museum, in the former Captains-General Palace. Nearby, opposite Havana harbor, are El Templete and La Barca restaurants.
