Don Giovanni Restaurant

Not far from the house that in 1998 was home to famous restaurant Don Giovanni is a building of the same name constructed in honor of Italian military engineer Giovanni Bautista Antonelli, who designed and built several fortifications in the Americas, some of the most outstanding are the Morro and Cabaña fortresses in Havana. Don Giovanni has an enviable location, just a few steps to the Cathedral Square approach through Empedrado Street and near Plaza de Armas and Havana harbor. In the surrounding area, visitors will see part of the seawall found in archeological excavations resumed by the City Historian’s Archeology Department in 2006. Today this place is a theme park attended by thousands of visitors and passersby approaching it unaware of the fact that they are viewing one section of the seawall built towards 1734 and improved in 1763.
