Santo Ángel Restaurant (In remodeling)

In 1866, the house now occupied by this restaurant was owned by Susana Benítez de Parejo, who then decided to establish El Santo Ángel (The Holy Angel) college for poor children in this place, which since 1932 shared its space on the upper floor with St. Amelia music conservatory. Santo Ángel restaurant is situated in the Old Square magical environment, specializing in Cuban and international cuisine. With a bright and colorful interior courtyard where visitors will find natural plants and some bird and other animal species native to Cuba, the symbol of this house is the beautiful fountain at the center of the square, one of the finest monuments in town.

Its rooms, its interior courtyard, the porch and the square reveal themselves as service places that visitors may choose to enjoy a delicious meal and refreshing cocktails, and listen to their favorite Cuban traditional music. There is a bar, a coffee shop and a private room with a cellar showing a fine selection of wines, as well as buffet and dinner services at the Old Square. Santo Ángel also serves rice-based dishes.
With some tables in the open and others placed at the porch, from Santo Ángel Hotel visitors may enjoy a view of everyday life in the Old Square, where several institutions like the Dark Chamber, the Planetarium, the Cuban Photographic Library, the Visual Arts Development Center, the Wallonie Showcase, the Coffee Bar, the Wall Bar and El Escorial Café have their headquarters.
